Socks around the Clock

Fall is here and we have your feet covered; with socks that is.  We just received a HUGE shipment from Richer Poorer and Stance socks. We’ve got no show socks, over-the-knee socks, ankle socks, sheer socks, cashmere socks, striped socks, mushroom socks… and the list goes on. Instead of telling you, let me show you!

Buy socks for yourself or your friends or both!
I know I will be picking up a couple pairs, maybe more than a few.
Lots of Sock Love,
Marika

I saw these Maguba clogs online; it seems like something Manifesto would carry. Do you have a similar style or know where I can find these in Portland?

We do carry Magubas but currently we do not have any in stock.  We are waiting on our fall shipment to come. We also carry Swedish Hasbeens which is another clog brand from Sweden.  I believe that Clogs & More downtown might carry Magubas.

Thank you,
The Shoe Crew

Do you carry Swedish Hasbeens? I had a pair of the T Strap, wore them out and looking for another. Ideally in Natural Size 40. Thanks so much!

Unfortunately, we are all sold out of that style! The only other Swedish Hasbeens retailer in Portland is Victory but I am not sure what styles they have.  Sorry we couldn’t help you find your “sole” mate.

Happy Hunting

Brand Spotlight: A Mano Trading

We just picked up a new jewelry line that we are really excited about!  A Mano Trading is a small company out of the Bay Area.  The founders are two sisters that grew up with hippie parents that instilled a “strong maker ethic of self sufficiency” in their daughters.  This need to create led them to start their own jewelry line using vintage and salvaged materials as well as molds from years past to create a truly unique, handcrafted piece of wearable art.  The company strives to keep its prices low enough that everyone can get in on the action while maintaining a high quality collection. I promise you will love it just like we do!

Come check it out! It is currently in both stores.
Lots of jewelry love,
Marika

I desperately need help to find the perfect fall boot! I want a simple, black, heeled ankle boot. I've found some on European websites (see mid heel chelsea boot by newlook) but having a difficult time locally. Do you shoe experts have any suggestions?

Hi! We have a couple boots in the shop that might be worth taking a look at. The Esska “Gaze”, the Camper “Lila” and the Jeffrey Campbell “Warr”. None of the boots are exactly what you are looking for but we have lots of other options in the shop if you have time to stop by!  We will also be getting a lot more boots in the next few weeks. Most of the styles listed are currently at our other location, pedX on Alberta Street.

Thank you, hope this was helpful!

Hi, I'm just wondering if you carry the Frye-Jackie Gore boot in black size 5.5? Thanks

Hi! Unfortuntely it doesn’t look like we will be getting that style in this season.  We do have lots of other Fryes coming in though!  Please feel free to call the store for specific styles, pedX - 503-460-0760 or Manifesto - 503-546-0910.

Thank you,

No Pants? No Problem!

I am pretty much strictly a dress wearing person, with the occasional pair of shorts or skirt.  Sometimes this makes it difficult to pick boots and/or booties.  I have to be careful and make sure that the shaft height as well as the cut is one that lends itself to dresses.  I don’t want to look like I have stump legs or the dreaded “kankle”.  In order to avoid this, I did some research (mostly by trying a lot of boots on) and have discovered a few key components that make a boot dress compatible.

  1. Keep it simple, a classic boot will go with a lot more outfits than a trendy one
  2. Heeled booties always make the leg look longer and the calves look saucier
  3. Wear a hemline that is above the top of your boots
  4. Show off your amazing boots!

MEET THE TEAM: ARIEL

Hello! My name is Ariel and I’ve called the Pacific Northwest my home for most of my life. One thing I love about living here is changing shoes with the seasons! Every season brings on another excuse to buy new shoes to meet my needs. When it comes to shoes I either like a big chunky platform, a delicate flat, or a stylish pair of sneakers. When I’m not selling lovely shoes I’m out spending time with my new hubby James, reading, going to shows, biking around town, and hanging out with cats. I’m excited to be working with such a great team at pedX and Manifesto!
