A week’s worth of giving: you and your boo
Welcome back, guys! We’re almost done with our last minute, way-too-specific holiday gift guide! Today, we’re talking ‘bout your boo. Your partner, significant other, ball n’ chain, what have you. Or, way-too-specifically, your hipster boo. The person who makes you really good mix tapes, shares their skinny jeans and cardigans with you, and goes to shows to not dance with you. Here’s a few things your boo might not have heard about yet that he or she might like.
Your hipster boo
Clockwise from top: toiletries, Jack Black, prices vary @ Manifesto; “Freedy” fedora, Goorin Bros., $54 @ Manifesto; “Winslow” boot, Tsubo, $225 @ Manifesto.
Also good gifts for: your hipster roommate, your hipster coworker.
Fun idea: stick a fun mix in with the gift, and maybe a Polaroid of the two of you together.
Stay tuned for more fun gift ideas!

Sally

1 boot, 4 ways (way 4)
On this here rainy Monday it might be hard to think about, but here’s the fourth way I would wear the Tsubo “Osuga:” To the flea market (or farmer’s market!)

Throw on your favorite casual dress (rain or shine, I’m a big fan of the nautical look,) and a comfy cardigan just in case the weather is temperamental, then polish the whole look off with a simple statement piece (this necklace is from Betsy + Iya,) purse big enough to hold your findings (red Nino Bossi bag shown,) plus a cognac belt at the waist (and over the sweater if you feel frumpy,) and some sunglasses in case the weather turns the other way ‘round- better safe than sorry!
The Osugas are definitely comfortable enough to get you through the entire trek in one piece, so why settle for anything less?
How about you, readers? Would you wear your boots like this?

Sally
1 boot, 4 ways (way 3)
Stumped on how to wear the Tsubo “Osuga?” Well you shouldn’t be, because you can wear these babies with just about anything! We showed you how to wear them to work, then out to happy hour, but do you think you can dress the bad boys up too?
You’re right!
Here’s how I would wear them on date night:

Grab a girly outfit (luxe-feeling skirt, colorful tank, and oh-so-flattering wrap cargigan,) and top it off with your favorite date night staples. Mine are this goes-with-everything black Shiraleah clutch, dainty Harlow earrings, and COATT Morse Code necklaces (perhaps with a secret message for your date mate?)
The bonus to these boots is that no matter where you end up; Drinks? Dancing? Running from the cops? They’re comfy enough!

1 boot, 4 ways (way 2)
Last time we talked about the Tsubo “Osuga,” I showed you one way to wear them to work. And if you want to wear them for play? Next time you head out to meet your friends for drinks, try pairing these simple stunners with your comfiest skinny jeans tucked in or your boot cut jeans over the top, a girly blouse, your favorite clutch (this one’s from Hobo,) and a pile on your favorite earrings (the birds are from Daphne & Olive and the leaves are from Towne & Reese.)
Tip: If you do opt for skinny jeans, tuck them into your socks to prevent bunching at the ankle. Yes, this will look incredibly dorky. But you’re the only one who will see.

Have fun at girl’s night!

Sally
1 boot, 4 ways (way 1)
The boots are starting to really roll in now, and easily one of my favorites is the Tsubo “Osuga.” It’s a rich camel color, has a doable heel height and a manageable shaft height (not all the way to the knee means it can fit more calf widths!) Plus it’s simple-yet-styley shape means it will work for all kinds of people and occasions, so what’s not to love? So I’m here to show you how to get your money’s worth and make these boots work all kinds of different affairs staring with, well, work.

Pairing these sassy boots with a longer skirt keeps them from looking overtly sexy, which at most offices is what you’re going for. Add a vintagey blouse and professional-looking blazer (I matched it to the boots in this case) and top the whole look off with your favorite necklace (this one is Minoux,) colorful scarf (Shiraleah,) and bag (Nino Bossi) and you’re in business- literally!
Stay tuned for a whole ‘nother way to wear the Osuga!

Sally

Wedding Season: the bridesmaids
Personally there is nothing I hate more than being a bridesmaid- and no, not because I have wedding envy, but because its a lot of effort, often drama, and a day of me wearing a potentially hideous outfit and uncomfortable shoes…. As the maid of honor in my older sisters wedding she happily tortured me in a bubble gum pink princess-style (over 15 layers of tulle!) floor-length gown. I looked like reject Cinderella who had an all out color war with the tooth fairy and lost. That was probably the worst bridesmaid experience though others rival it… thinking back to the puke green ensemble I once had to wear…

Anyhow, as a bride, you do not want your gals to upstage you, but you also don’t want them to be uncomfortable and miserable (recalls the flesh tone dress) because frankly they will just end up being cranky and not the best helpers to fluff your train, or do the multiple of other duties that are requested of a bridesmaid.
The days where the girls should all wear the same thing have passed; a nice contrast is the same color dress but in different styles to flatter the individual’s shape. The same can be said for shoes. The same shoe does not work for everyone. The thoughtful bride will let her gals pick out shoes that will not only flatter the foot but be comfortable for lots of standing, walking, and dancing.

(Above shoes: GeeWawa “Brave,” Indigo “Bardolino,” Camper “Rachel,” Tsubo “Boleyn”)
Though we have many many other that are stylish and comfortable. by all means, bring your ladies in, dresses and or swatches and let us help you find the right shoe that compliments the dress!
Have fun!

Con-grad-ulations!
Whelp, it’s graduation season! Meaning you or someone you love is about to enter the cold, hard real world, and you couldn’t be more proud. Gettin’ a gift for someone can be a little tricky though.
First of all, practicality is always a winner. High school graduates could always use a messenger bag or backpack for their laptops, books and other collegiate accessories. Those college graduates are gonna have to have a new spiffy watch, to make sure they’re on time to their hopeful oncoming slew of job interviews. Or another, more sentimental touch for the ladies would be a charm necklace with an initial on it. Or a wishbone— as a good luck charm, get it?!
On the other hand, if you’re the one that’s the soon-to-be alumnus, you’re going to need some new shoes to make a good impression at your new job or internship. Shoes say a lot, and you’re gonna want your kicks to holler, “I’m proficient and sharp and awesome, you know you wanna gimme dat job!!” Transitioning to a more professional shoe may feel awkward, but you can stay fly with a smart oxford, or some chic (but comfy!) wedges or heels. Throw in a sleek Christopher Kon bag or a sturdy Dean laptop bag/suitcase, and you’ve got the polished, well-qualified look down!

Top row L-R: Wheelmen & Co. backpack; Baroni initial charm; Christopher Kon convertible tote
Middle row L-R: Fly London Win oxford; Tsubo Acrea heel
Bottom row L-R: Cydwoq Classic oxford; Dean laptop bag; D-Segno Brandy wedge
Get Naked.
But first, get your mind out of the gutter! We’re talking nude here, people. As in, the color of the season! The other day we were talking about dressing in the same color from head to toe, and awhile back we declared that wearing a shoe close in color to your skin tone will elongate your legs. With all the possibilities already swirling in my mind, I run across this babe on a street style blog yesterday:

And I was simply inspired. What a chic, sexy look! I absolutely love the way this gal combined tonal shades of nude, and I can’t wait to try it myself (now where do I get an amazing camel coat like this one?)
Here are a few pieces to help motivate you too:

1. 645, Christopher Kon
2. 336 T-Strap Sky High Clog, Swedish Hasbeens
3. Jamin, Sanita
4. Acrea, Tsubo
5. Guthrie, Miz Mooz
6. Naomi, Miz Mooz
7. 432 Peep Toe Super High Clog, Swedish Hasbeens
Have a very naked spring!
