New Jewelry Designer Spotlight: Grayling
Just in! Manifesto is now carrying the jewelry line Grayling, from local designer Katy Kippen. Below are some of my favorite pieces, but there’s definitely plenty more where these came from.

Every piece in the line is crafted in Portland from stones such as genuine quartz, agate, pyrite, turquoise and other gemstones. Lots of draped chains with touches of color, these are for sure to go with so much of your wardrobe. Other good news: the entire line is nickel and lead free, and all ear wires are safe for sensitive ears!
Come in and check ‘em out!

Jingle Jangle: Designer Spotlight Part 3
Welcome to day three of Jangle-Fest ‘11, y’all! We’re rolling right along with another local favorite. Check it out!
Destiny Ray: Stunning Statements

Lovely local Destiny Ray also dropped off some yummy jingle jangle this past week, and I was blown away! I am in awe of all the new stuff! Highlights include spikes (gold, turquoise and red,) raw-looking quartz, and lots of hammered metal. All pieces that can be worn everyday, but are by no means boring. And to think, she almost ended up being a dentist! See you tomorrow I hope, jewelry lovers!

Jingle Jangle: Designer Spotlight Part 1
Guess what, jewelry hounds? We got in a whopping FIVE jewelry orders last week! That’s a lotta metal! And, once I came to my senses, I thought to myself I thought, “Self, that’s almost a week’s worth of jewelers.” DING! So every day this week (because you now I ain’t bloggin’ on the weekends!) I’m going to showcase my favorites from each artist. Let’s just keep it fair n’ square and go alphabetically, ok?
Betsy + Iya: Mix Metal Master
Local designer Betsy (“Iya” remains a mystery!) has quite the eye! Her pieces are eclectic, but from what I can discern, some reoccurring themes include mixed metals (we talked about this), geometry, and AWESOMENESS! Everything looks beautiful on, and the prices are great ($30-$80) so, ya know, what are you waiting for?
New from Erika Lauren

Hot off the presses: We just got in some truly lovely pieces from local designer Erika Lauren! These new arrivals have a tribal-meets-industrial vibe that I am admittedly obsessed with. What a perfect way to add color and personality to even the simplest of outfits. Imagine: a chambray or crisp white button up blouse with slim-fitting slacks and black oxfords. Kinda classic, kinda snoozy, right? Just throw on a neon lanyard necklace with meticulously-placed hardware, and you’re in business! Keeping the outfit clean and uncomplicated leaves the perfect backdrop for standout pieces like these!
So come and check them out for yourselves, while they’re still in stock!
New From Maya Moon

Who, me? Huh? Oh, just gettin’ all vain up in my new Maya Moon leather fringe earrings, no big deal. Local designer Maya Moon uses fine leather and recycled leather scraps to create these amazing and one of a kind pieces, like these babies I just scooped up! Maya also makes some fantastic handbags, cuffs, and keychains with the same flair. Check out the siblings to my earrings below, or in person at Manifesto of course!
New from Destiny Ray
You might be surprised to find out that local designer Destiny Ray originally wanted to become an orthodontist. It wasn’t until college when, in an introductory metalworking class, she found her true calling. Indeed, it must have been destiny* that brought jewelry and Miss Ray together, because there is something undeniably organic and instinctual about her work. The fusion of metals and textures, the subtle variations in shapes and the twists on classic pieces. In our recent Destiny order, I was most inspired by these brand spanking new pieces:

I love the use of color and pattens in these necklaces. These pieces stand out for all the right reasons, and they are perfect for layers (a favorite look of mine!) How perfect would a few of these babies look all layered up with just a simple white v neck tee and jeans? So come check out the latest from this local favorite, before I buy them all for myself and rub it in!

Sally
*Pun intended, OKAY? SORRY.**
**Totally not sorry.
ASA Trunk Show!
Saturday is going to be a fantastically fun day on Mississippi for numerous reasons. Good music (32 bands), great food (including a rib competition), local artists, activities for the kids, opportunities to hang with old friends, plenty of chances to make new ones. It’s going to be a great day all around, and we went ahead and made it that much better!
We have invited local talent Angela Arnold creator of ASA Jewelry to hang out with us during the street fair to showcase her amazing collection. She’ll be at Manifesto all day, so come check out her gorgeous jewelry and chat with this lovely local jeweler!
Here’s a few of my favorite pieces from ASA:

Don’t miss out on this sweet deal!
Harlow Love
Got my amazing coral earrings from local designer Ruthie at Harlow the other day and have not taken them off. Ya know why?
Because they go with everything! The day I got them, I was wearing a ruffly white tank top, and immediately swapped ‘em in to add some color. Wore ‘em the next day with a golden yellow sundress, and they totally matched. Today I have on a stripey blue tank top and jeans, and the colors compliment each other!
See what I mean?
Coral really is the color of the season. Thanks Ruthie, you rock!

Sally
New from Minoux
We were already excited to get a fresh batch of jewelry from one of our favorite local jewelers, Minoux (pronounced minnow.) We were downright elated to unwrap all of the new pieces and see the new, surprising direction the line has taken. Take a look:
Minoux has always been known for clean, classic (but never boring) shapes and designs, but this season has debuted new shapes and stunning silhouettes that turn heads without being over the top; in short, the latest collection is still classy and versatile, but also incredibly modern and cool. If I was able, I would get greedy and scoop them all up for myself, but I’m very happy with the mixed metal pyramid necklace I just got in the meantime!
For a closer look at Minoux’s new line, stop into either pedX or Manifesto while they’re still in stock!

12 Days of Christmas: Day 4
So I did a little bit of research, and did you know that these alleged “calling birds” get up and start chirping really early? We’re talking sunrise! I literally don’t like the sound of that, especially during Christmas break.
I suggest you give a gift that sends a real message. These necklaces (by local designer Beki for Coatt) have a secret Morse code message for their recipient. We have a variety of words and colors down at Manifesto, including “love” and “friend.”

Pick up a sweet something for the gal in your life, and we’ll see you tomorrow for the fifth installment of the 12 days of Christmas!
