New Arrivals!

What’s a rent check?
Nice Bags for Bad Girls
We just got our shipment of bags from Jeffrey Campbell, y’all! They’re from his debut line of bags, inspired by the girls we all hated (but secretly wanted to be) in high school- the cool ones who smoked Marlboro Reds, wore the latest offerings from the mall with great aplomb, and stole your boyfriend with no apology. But make no mistake, these bags offer nothing but good vibes, I promise. See for yourself!
At top: Dial, which is big enough for your homework fashion magazines, make-up, your cigs and has a handle, which is great for running off when you’re cutting class. $150.
Bottom: Ian clutch, with lots of great compartments for your Lisa Frank diary, keys to your dad’s car, a flask… Ya know, the essentials. $85
Now, don’t forget to chew some gum and freshen up before you sneak back in.

Sally
Jingle Jangle: Designer Spotlight Part 5
Okay okay, probably even the biggest jewelry lover is sick of me babbling on about the shiny stuff by now (yeah, me neither.) We finish up the series with a jewelry who is brand new to me and Mani both!
Christi Lee: Titan of Texture

Christi Lee’s pieces speak for themselves- and they say all sorts of clever, sassy things. Her jewelry is the kind that you can put on without thinking about on those blah days- just throw on your favorite sweater, jeans, some of her jangle, and you’re set. Her use of simple shapes, jazzed up with texture and sheen (or lack thereof,) render her jewelry breathtaking in their simplicity. ‘Nuff said.
If there are any jewelers you think we should know about, or you want to know more about, let us know in the comments section!

Jingle Jangle: Designer Spotlight Part 4
Oh, hey there! You’re here for more jangle juju, right? Okay, cool, you’re in the right place. We continue with a collection that truly sung to the tiny goth that lives in my (black) heart!
Zoë Chicco: Goth Gone Good

LA- based jeweler Zoë Chicco probably spent a lot of her childhood, like the rest of us, watching The Craft. I’m just speculating here, ya know? The difference is, she managed to channel her love of all things spiky and skully* into some gorgeous and perfectly wearable jangle! Her pieces can be seen gracing celebrities, magazine covers, and movie stars alike (newly-bred fashionista Dakota Fanning has been spotted sporting a Zoë skull or two!) Lucky for you, we have some too. And it’s not just for us dark-hearted types neither; Lia Michelle has worn a sweeter Zoë pendant on Glee! There’s something for everyone in her collections.
Until next time, dark hearts!

*Totally a word, OKAY?
Jingle Jangle: Designer Spotlight Part 2
Hello again, jewelry fans! At least I hope you’re jewelry fans, because as I told you yesterday, we just got a whole ton of it. Every day this week I’m going to feature the latest and greatest from our new arrivals, one designer at a time!
Oh, and if we’re getting super-technical, I scrapped that whole alphabetical idea. I do what I want! ;)
Nervous System: Nature Lovers in a Digital World
At first glance, the jewelry made by oh-so-hip jewelers Nervous System might look familiar. It might look like something you have seen under a microscope. This is because their jewelry comes from a very avante garde design process: the Massachusetts design team describes it as “using a novel process that employs computer simulation to generate designs and digital fabrication to realize products. Drawing inspiration from natural phenomena, we write computer programs mimicking processes and patterns found in nature and use those programs to create unique and affordable art, jewelry, and housewares.” Basically, they design using patterns from nature as interpreted by machines. Would you expect anything less from a Biology major and a math major, respectively? And they put their money where thier nature lovin’ mouths are too: everything is made ethically and eco-friendly.
Nervous System is bridging the gap between geek and chic faster than Tina Fey!
See you tomorrow for more accessory adoration!

Jingle Jangle: Designer Spotlight Part 1
Guess what, jewelry hounds? We got in a whopping FIVE jewelry orders last week! That’s a lotta metal! And, once I came to my senses, I thought to myself I thought, “Self, that’s almost a week’s worth of jewelers.” DING! So every day this week (because you now I ain’t bloggin’ on the weekends!) I’m going to showcase my favorites from each artist. Let’s just keep it fair n’ square and go alphabetically, ok?
Betsy + Iya: Mix Metal Master
Local designer Betsy (“Iya” remains a mystery!) has quite the eye! Her pieces are eclectic, but from what I can discern, some reoccurring themes include mixed metals (we talked about this), geometry, and AWESOMENESS! Everything looks beautiful on, and the prices are great ($30-$80) so, ya know, what are you waiting for?
New Designer Spotlight: heidiroland

Above are just a few of my favorite pieces from new-to-Manifesto jeweler Heidi Roland. The Philly designer uses colorful leather, feathers, and chains to create jewelry that truly stands out, and are great for adding a lot or a little color to any outfit. Oh, and it’s totally affordable too! All these pieces are under $30, and would make a great gift for the cool chick in your life! So get them while you can- they won’t last long!
xoxo,
Sally
