Bombs Away!

Here’s my bottom line: everyone needs a good hat. It’s Portland, it’s cold, you have bad hair days, and it’s just a matter of finding the right hat (or five) for you. More often than not, hats do not work for me. In fact, it often seems like they go out of their way to make me look crazy and big-headed. It’s okay, me and hats have our fun. I recently picked up a little knit aviator cap (AKA pilot/bomber cap, or “the one like Amelia Earhart used to wear”) from the pedX sale loft that’s been treating me right (and there’s more!) Given the recent take off (pun intended) of the aviator/pilot/military trend, my lil cap has been getting a lot of love! Recently, we got some new goodies from Echo Design, and whaddya know? Included was their take on the bomber cap too!

And here’s a pic of my greasy mug in the aforementioned hat:

If my awesome face doesn’t convince you, here’s some photographic evidence of this awesome trend:

Pretty fly, right?

All Wrapped Up

I know I’m not alone when I confess, I’m completely obsessed with the summer scarf. I have suddenly found myself with about a dozen lightweight varieties, from printed to solid, sheer to silky. They’re my hands-down favorite way to add a little pop to any outfit, and inexpensive too. Plus, there’s about a million different ways to wear a single scarf, so you won’t get bored!
Here’s a few of my favorite ways, courtesy of various Tumblrs:

I’ve been rocking mine turban-style a lot lately. Other styles to try? How about as a sash belt, or tied to the strap of a basic bag?

Some of my favorites here at Manifesto, all under 25 bucks.

Be sure and check back soon for a tutorial on how to tie your scarf!

Foot Bling

As the temperature rises and the feet get all nakedy, I can’t help but notice all the foot bling out there. Perhaps it’s Portland’s way of saying “FINALLY!” Maybe it’s just a fun way to doll up your feet. Either way, I’ve been seeing tons of toe rings, amazing anklets, and preposterous pedicures lately, especially animal prints.

        Would you try this trend?

While most of us consider a basic summer pedicure mandatory (wool socks and boots every day don’t require much in the way of foot maintenance,) some have taken it to the next level with printed pedis, often adding jewels and charms. Is this a look you would rock? Are you right now? Or is it too much for your tootsies? Personally, I would steal that strawberry motif on the far left in a heartbeat!
